I volunteer at the Museum of Natural Science and wrote this script for me to work off of at the Touch Cart for the Texas exhibit. Only parts are used at any time. The information is nothing new to people at this site, but I just thought I'd share.

Hello Everyone,
The Houston Chronicle just ran a great new article about value of prairie potholes which features Dr. John Jacob - our local prairie wetlands expert. The article is based on soon to be released research inot the value and function of prairie potholes by Texas A&M University. Well worth a read.

Several of us walked around Brazos Bend State Park on Saturday, January 29th. Much to our delight we heard Cajun chorus frogs singing wildly from a prairie pothole.

On Wednesday Decemer 8th, 20 volunteers packed 2,000+ seed packets in Houston! These packets will be distributed to local schools, garden clubs, scouts, and private individuals as part of Katy Prairie Conservancy's Great Grow Out citizen-conservation program. This program generated over 2,500 plants for KPC in 2010.
